Since rolling out the BuySpeed™ system in early 2001, Tucson has enabled more than 500 internal customer users and 15,000 vendors on the system. The City uses BuySpeed™ for online requisitioning, workflow management, Web-based vendor registration, direct contract ordering, purchase orders and online reporting and inquiry.

The City will begin online purchase order delivery with BuySpeed™, further reducing the processing time for orders with vendors. The City will also begin utilizing Government-to-Business (G2B) linking for system-to-system ordering with various vendors.
Results: Average document processing time range reduced from 25% - 99.9%. Requisition processing reduced from 14 days to 2 days. Direct Release (ordering from requirements contracts) processing time reduced from 28 days to 1 day or less. Purchase Order processing reduced from 28 days to 14 days. Vendor Registration processing reduced from 28 days to less than 1 hour. Reduction of $16,000 annually on postage and paper.
